Bro. Rex3 ABOUT US

Eight years ago, in the middle of the year 2000, a group of Filipinos in Las Vegas from different walks of life got together because they shared one thing, the love of our Lord Jesus Christ and the call to spread the Gospel to their fellow Filipinos.

They first started sharing the good news and studying the bible from their own home not knowing that they were starting an outreach mission. In three months time, by the grace of God their number increased twofold. And as their number grew, they decided to organize a Catholic Mass for the Filipino community here in Las Vegas. It came into fruition at the St. Bridget Catholic Parish church, located in the North of Las Vegas, under the late Reverend Father James Swenson as parish priest.
With the approval of Father James Swenson, the first Filipino Holy Eucharistic mass was held.

Such was the euphoria felt by these brothers and sisters in Christ so much  that they decided it was now time to name their prayer group. And with the approval of Father James Swenson, and with the assigning of Father James Cortez as the group spiritual advisor and director, a name was finally revealed to them through the leading of the Holy Spirit. Taken from Revelation 3:14, the verse reads..
"And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the AMEN , the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God." thus was the AMEN Missionary Ministry came to be by the grace of God.

The zeal to serve God burned strongly on these individuals who would later lead the ministry onwards on it's holy mission to do the work of God, to win the souls of His people for His greater glory. Through preaching and evangelizing boldly for the Kingdom of God so as to rerstore the temple within all of us for the Holy Spirit to reside in. They divided their time preaching the Gospel and offering their services as Gospel commentator, ushers, collectors and Eucharistic ministers to the different parish church here in Las Vegas namely the St. Bridget church, Prince of Peace church and the St. Francis of Assisi church located in Henderson. Adding to that was the feeding of the homeless at the St. Vincent shelter.

The ministry was used by God to successfully organize and host the 2000 Jubilee Celebration along with the help and participation of the different NGO groups and ministries with Father Jess Cortes as the spiritual advisor at that time.

With the grace of God and the leading of the Holy Spirit, the ministry started to reach out and offer a helping hand to our poor brothers and sisters in Christ in the Philippines. Through overseas mission such as the sending of boxes comprising of donated clothing, books, toys, shoes and canned goods, to the organizing of medical and dental missions to far flung provinces in the Philippines which offers the poor free circumcision, eye examinations, reading glasses and medicine among others. The word of the Lord is being spread through these mediums.

As of to date, the ministry has finally opened it's own office and Gospel center located at the Sahara Town Square, corner of Sahara and Maryland. We in the AMEN look forward to offering seminars such as the Catholic Life in the Spirit Seminar, Basic Christian Maturity seminar, Adult and Youth leadership training, Discipleship and flock sheperding for the spiritual advancement of our fellow brothers and sisters.

"May YAHWEH continue blessing you in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ AMEN !"
